Kapila Juthani

Kapila Juthani is an experienced lawyer and a talented legal writer. She has honed her skills during her years practicing law both in the practice sector and as a federal government attorney.

Most recently, Kapila served as Assistant Chief Counsel for Regulations at the Transportation Security Administration in Washington, D.C. At the TSA, she drafted and reviewed regulations, privacy documents, legal opinions, and Memoranda of Understanding, ensuring compliance with the administrative and privacy laws governing federal rulemaking. Kapila was also responsible for supervising the drafting work of the other attorneys in the Regulations Division. Before joining the Office of Chief Counsel at TSA, Kapila practiced commercial litigation at Sullivan & Cromwell.

Kapila earned her J.D. from New York University School of Law, where she was an Articles Editor of the Annual Survey of American Law. Kapila is the author of a note that was published in the Annual Survey: Police Treatment of Domestic Violence and Sexual Abuse: Affirmative Duty to Protect vs. Fourth Amendment Privacy. Kapila earned her B.A. in American Studies from Yale University.

Kapila is a member of the bars of New York State and the District of Columbia.
