Lynn Watson

Accent-Reduction & Speech Coach


Lynn Watson is a seasoned voice and speech consultant. She is an Associate Professor at the University of Maryland-Baltimore County, where she was previously chair of the Theater Department.

In addition to coaching professionals at major law firms and corporations, Lynn has worked extensively as a voice, speech, and dialects specialist at leading regional theatres. Her credits include Kennedy Center productions of The Glass Menagerie and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Arena Stage and Ford’s Theatre in Washington, DC; A.C.T. San Francisco; Mark Taper Forum; and four seasons with the Tony-winning theatre, South Coast Repertory.

Lynn has served as associate-editor-in-chief for the Voice and Speech Review and is an editor for the “International Dialects of English Archive.” Professional affiliations include Actors’ Equity, Screen Actors Guild, and the Voice and Speech Trainers Association (President Elect). She is an Associate Teacher of Fitzmaurice Voicework. Lynn earned a B.F.A. in Theatre from Ohio University, and went on to earn an M.F.A. in Drama from the University of California, Irvine.
