A few years ago, Theresa Wagner applied for a position as a legal writing professor at the University of Iowa Law School. She didn’t get the job, and she filed a lawsuit claiming that the decision not to hire her was based on illegal discrimination against her conservative political views: she had been active in pro-life organizations.
